Ft. Gratiot Township, (October 12, 2023) – The Village of Lake Huron Woods is pleased to announce a groundbreaking ceremony with stakeholders and public officials on Wednesday, October 18 to celebrate new affordable housing coming to the area. The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and the Port Huron Housing Commission are partnering with Presbyterian Villages of Michigan (PVM) to make this a reality. The Edward N and Della L Thome Foundation and the State of Michigan, along with PNC, have provided support for the community.

The total cost of the project is $30 M and will also provide new jobs to the surrounding community. Low Income Housing tax Credits is assisting with the financing of this important new community. The Cottages portion of the campus is expected to be completed in spring, 2025.
